It was reported on December 10th, 2008 that Florida State University would be forming a Budget Crisis Committee which would deal with up to 60 million dollars potentially in budget cuts.
It appears that the committee is in full swing as just this Thursday, the Thagard Student Health Center Pharmacy has bitten the bullet, potentially saving the school up to $400,000 per year. Only 59.6 million dollars to go.
The thermostats are practically being turned off during the holidays and employees who are working have been told to dress appropriately. That should save a few hundred thousand. Ok, now only 59.3 million to go.
It should be noted that Florida State University is still condoning the public speaking engagement of William Ayers, a terrorist who has not apologized for his actions and is now somehow a distinguished professor of education at the University of Chicago.
Oops. Better erase those savings above and consider starting over. To date, 135 petioners and/or supporters of Florida State University have spoken out against this state university compensating a terrorist with state funds and as a result will be witholding their future support.
Have you voiced your opinion yet?
